Why Hiring Local Electricians for Your Humble, TX Home is a Wise Idea

Your Harris County home is comprised of so many elements, and top on the list of importance is the electrical system. From illuminating rooms when the sun goes down to powering your family’s devices, and from keeping things cool and comfortable when the temperatures spike to ensuring everyone is comfy and cozy when the cold weather blows in, you rely on the electrical system to power your home – and your life!

Yes, there’s no denying that electricity is vital, which is why it’s so important to have a reliable Humble, TX electrician on hand. In the event that an emergency happens or you just want to install some extra outlets, having an electrician that you can depend on to answer the call when you need them is a must. When you need an electrical installation or an emergency electrician, you could contact a big company, but if you really want to be sure that someone will answer your call, here’s a look at three great reasons why hiring local electricians that service the Harris County area is your best bet.

Service When You Need It

One of the biggest issues that you’ll run into when you use a bigger company is the long wait time. Even if you’re having an emergency, you run the risk of having to wait for an extended period of time. Local electricians tend to be smaller operations, and they tend to be more dedicated to the local Harris County community, which means that they usually go the extra mile to ensure they not only meet the needs but that they exceed the expectations of their clients. A reputable Humble, TX electrician will be sure to answer the call and will be there when you need them.

Personalized Services

From standard electrical installations to emergency electrical services – and more – local electricians offer a variety of services. What’s more, the services they provide will be personalized to meet your unique needs. With a bigger company, you run the risk of being reduced to a number, and often, larger operations take a cookie-cutter approach; in other words, they treat all clients the same. A dependable Humble, TX electrician that services the Harris County area will learn and call you by your name, will take the time to perform a thorough assessment and will take a customized approach to ensure you receive the highest quality results.

Affordable Prices

Usually, local electricians don’t have as much overhead as bigger operations. As such, when it comes to pricing, they tend to have more flexibility. Plus, because a local Humble, TX electrician will want to provide top-quality services and establish a great reputation, he will go above and beyond to meet your needs, including working within your budget.

Some information about Humble, TX

Humble is a city located in the Houston metropolitan area. Humble became an oil boomtown in the early 20th century when oil was first discovered there in 1904. By 1905, the Humble oilfield was the largest producing oilfield in Texas. Humble was home of The Humble Oil and Refining Company, a predecessor of Exxon.

The first settlers began moving into the Humble area in the early 19th century. Joseph Dunman is believed to be the first settler in 1828. A ferry was built nearby, across the San Jacinto River. The area of Humble became a center for commercial activity due to the region’s large oil industry.

The city got its name from one of the original founders/settlers, Pleasant Smith Humble, who opened the first post office in his home and later served as justice of the peace. In 1883, a city directory reported that he operated a fruit stand. In 1885, he was a wood dealer, and in 1900, the District 99, Justice Pct. 4, Harris Co., Texas Census reported his occupation as attorney at law.

Humble became an oil boomtown in the early 1900 when oil was first produced there. The first oil was produced a couple years after the famous Spindletop discovery in Beaumont, Texas. Railroad linkage was established in 1904, and shortly thereafter the first tank car of oil was shipped out of Humble’s oil field. By 1905 the Humble oilfield was the biggest producing field in Texas. The Humble oil fields are still active and have produced over 138,835,590 barrels (22,073,095 m3) of oil. The town was the home of the Humble Oil & Refining Company, founded in 1911, a predecessor of Exxon. When the oil boom receded, many land owners returned to truck farming, dairy farming and the timber industry.
